How we design plastic injection molds
We carry out the evaluation of technical solutions available to achieve the Customer’s objectives and requirements in plastic molding.
Here are the stages in which the design of a plastic injection mold is developed:

Construction of plastic molds
After design development, the project enters the production phase, with the actual construction of the plastics mold.
We carry out the project by following precise processing steps, starting with quality control on the raw materials that will form the injection mold. This starts the process of preparing and squaring the mold, which then begins to take shape.
The steel block that will form the mold for processing plastics goes through these stages:

Drilling
Making cooling circuits and drilling the mold at strategic points. Essential to ensure accurate and imperfection-free molding of plastic.

Roughing
The injection mold passes into the milling and turning departments to be roughened from excess material and take its final shape.

finish
Final milling allows the surface of the mold to be finished, particularly in all components that will come into contact with the plastic materials.

Polishing
The making of injection molds involves a final step, polishing. The parts of the mold that will come into contact with the plastic material are lapped and polished to a mirror finish. In this way, we guarantee a superior yield during molding.
Mold assembly and quality control
Before being delivered, each plastic mold undergoes functional testing to verify quality and achievement of the characteristics required by the Customer.
Mold components once polished are ready to face the assembly and testing phase. Through mold testing presses, the plastic injection molding process is simulated by testing closures at strategic points with centesimal and Prussian Blue probes.
To pass quality control, each mold is tested cold and hot, up to a temperature of 100°. Tightness checks are also carried out on cylinders with a pressure of up to 260 bar.
Thanks to these checks, the Client receives a perfectly tested and functioning mold, ready to be used by the company for molding plastic materials.
Repair and maintenance
We carry out periodic overhaul and maintenance of injection molds to ensure optimal performance for the Customer during production.
In the case of molds worn out or damaged during the molding process, we carry out timely repair work so as to return the mold to the Customer in a short time.
